Fritz Phosphate Remover If you are feeding frozen brine you may be increasing your phosphates at the same time. The brine is great for the fish, but the mess can be unsightly for you, and unhealthy for live corals. Unlike the competition, Fritz will remove silicates, the cause of those ugly diatom blooms. If repeat diatom blooms are cleared and recur after water changes - check your 'new' water filter or RO source.

EF Tested against Kent's Phosphate Sponge. Fritz works more slowly, can be left in the tank or filter longer than Kent's phosphate sponge, but at the end of 2 weeks, the phosphate level is lower than Kent's. Using this product consistently, not in mega doses, reduces algae growth of all types.

Live plant tips:

Fritz Phosphate Remover doesn't harm live plants, but may eventually deprive them of the traces of phosphorus they do require. I'd use it once or twice in a planted tank to greatly lower phosphate levels from excess fertilizer or frozen brine shrimp, then stop using any phosphate removers. Switch from phosphate based fertilizer to Instant Amazon by Marc Weiss, so that phosphates tend to stay naturally low and be more easily consumed by the plants. Be sure plants have adequate light intensity.
