Aquarium decor is more important to your fish than you might think. The fish don't care if your ornament is a coffee cup turned on its side, as long as the cup provides a sense of safety from the other fish, and from you. Another important factor is whether your decorative items leach toxic chemicals or other substances into the water. Natural seashells or white rocks, and natural driftwood contaminated with fungus can cause serious problems in your tank. Live plants can be difficult to keep alive with certain species of fish, or inadequate lighting. But your fish still need adequate cover to establish 'territory'. Since humans have different ideas about decorations than fish, Everything Fishy offers a very wide variety of decorative backgrounds, plants and ornaments.
